This is all true but no other President's actions like Bush's, fought terrorism on all levels...

By having a president committed to fighting terrorism is what this country needs...

Saying he's committed to fighting terrorism in a studied and confident way is one thing, being successful and effective at it is another thing.

The CIA is still training agents with the books and methods developed to fight the communists from Russia.

We still have few first party agents (CIA & FBI employed) on the ground any where. We rely on third party information and intelligence, such as dubious, paid informers/liars possibly working for our enemy, other country's intelligence, from Israel, Germany, England, Spain and Italy, to name a few.

The FBI has had a problem with Arab speaking translators:
Another F.B.I. Employee Blows Whistle on Agency. We really have to know our enemy. Clinton's crew may have screwed up, too, read this: BERGER PAPERS BARED TRANSLATION DISASTER

Check out this story: 2 FBI Whistle-Blowers Allege Lax Security, Possible Espionage
If you have time, read her letter to the 9/11 commission’s chairman: Letter to Thomas Kean from Sibel Edmonds

Bottom line is that we are not safer today then before or since 9/11. The terrorists are on the offensive, we're running a poor defense. We do not instill fear in the hearts and minds of the terrorists we probably instill laughter, derision and compounded hatred in them which ultimately strengthens them. Saddam was a bad man but he was also an Iraqi, eventually that trumps all of our supposed good intentions for the Iraqi people. You can't win as an occupying foreign force. Eventually the natives throw you out, unless, of course, you exterminate them all.

If you believe what's written for President Bush to say to the American people and don't follow your own common sense and intuitions then there is no turning your opinion about the fact that the Bush White House has failed to fight terrorism on almost every front. He's been ineffective as a world leader. He has failed to garnish support in the military (Rumsfeld alienated much of the top brass in the Military for his thick headed and ultimately failed theories about waging war) and he has little to no support with the other countries in the world community that we need on our side to successfully fight the terrorists. You can't LEAD without followers.

A quick suggestion; you can't talk about M. Moore without seeing his movies. Until then, here's an article about the latest one you may find interesting:
NANOOK AND ME by LOUIS MENAND “Fahrenheit 9/11” and the documentary tradition.

Why would you think Kerry isn’t committed to fighting terrorism? Do you think he's soft because he doesn't’t use the simpleton, machismo phrases that Bush uses to define his foreign policy? It’s a far more complex situation then the Republicans let’s on. All Mr. Bush can tell us after he says he has the will and conviction to fight this battle to the end is that it won’t be easy without telling us specifically what he plans to do.

We are not safe and our government can't make us safe. I'm not saying to live in fear, the odds for anyone of us seeing a terror attack are relatively small but that's the bottom line. The propaganda will lull you into believing we're in control, we're not.

Citizen’s action toward possible terrorist situations such as the heroic passenger’s actions on the flight that went down in Pennsylvania is what will help thwart the terrorists. They want soft targets with compliant and weak victims. Racial profiling is inevitable but we have enemies in our home land that have to be stopped. Looking someone in the eyes may reveal their intentions and stop their actions.

One of the only things this administration has succeeded in doing is garnishing more hatred against us and they've helped our enemy's recruitment and training efforts immensely. Young Iraqis won't remember Saddam, they'll remember the Americans bombing and killing and allowing the foreign terrorists into their country.

Were the Madrid bombings part of a new, far-reaching jihad being plotted on the Internet?

Yves,
Are you an isolationist who wants to build a wall around our country and keep anyone, other then those you decide you want in, in?

Do you believe it's an advantage having a guy in the White House who looks, sounds and acts like a yokel hillbilly but comes from a privilaged, wealthy, sudo-aristocratic New England family? Laura Bush seems to me to be a very sweet, sincere person who has led a very structured, predetermined and sheltered life.

Do you think it is a disadvantage having a President that speaks various languages, appreciates the diversity of culture in the world and in spite of coming from a family of relatively meager means took advantage of his exposure to privileged families and a privileged, international education (Kerry went to a private school in Switzerland) to become a thoughtful and deep individual, dedicating his life to serving the public? Ms. Heinz-Kerry seems to me to be a very assertive, intellegent and sincere person. From what I know of her past she has not lived a sheltered life and has experienced many cultures, clashes and atrocities. John Kerry's wife runs a huge, international charitable fund established by her and her previous husband.

Take a close look at both couples and decide.
