Who Wins?

Is it the strongest guy who always wins or the smartest? Do you believe that America is where it is only because of our military strength? How many tanks do you need to take out one terrorist? I have yet to see one f-16 pilot identify one terrorist on a busy Paris street and kill him with a single ten ton bomb.
The martial arts disciples say to concur an enemy you should use your enemy’s momentum to your advantage, this is something our enemy has come to understand and use.
To be a dead soldier is not as good as a live diplomat. A knowledgeable person is far more powerful then an army of idiots with rifles and body armor, great targets among the rags of the civilians. If our enemy holds no value for their own lives on this earth, then killing them or threatening to kill them will never stop them. Our strength is useless against them. There's an old Waziristan saying, "kill one terrorist and ten are created."
Now what? Should we add another billion dollars to the defense budget, buy some more aircraft carriers have a few more parades, recrute more soldiers? Perhaps, because of our vulnerability, we should all stop using the highways, trains, subways, sidewalks and schools. Do you carry a gas mask when you're out? Keep one in your car or hand bag? Those of you who live in what would seem like less attractive target areas then I am in, NYC, but you never know what a soft target might look like to a cash strapped and desperate to die with as many infidels as possible, terrorist living in Kansas City. If the government doesn't keep us scared they can't keep us controlled. The truth is, we were never safe and no government can ever guarantee our safety. If they say they can they're liars. Learn to live with it, the Israelis have.
Talk is nonviolent but can be an effective means to action, action without talk (or thought) or talk within a tight aninflexable dogma can lead to disaster and death, history has lots of examples, Iraq is one of the more recent ones.
I believe less government and minimum regulation is best and that ignorance, racism, radical religious fervor and blind nationalism are all very dangerous things. Nothing is simply BLACK or WHITE. I believe that the education of children is the most important priority in the world. I believe that the ability to empathizey is one of human kinds greatest abilities and should be nutured, taught at home, in school and by example.
